Against forgetting

In contrast to many other cities in Germany, the city of Oldenburg has refrained from installing "stumbling stones". The Jewish community rejects stepping on and soiling the stones set into sidewalks. The new memorial signs, which are placed at eye level, were designed by Prof. Kilian Stauss. Oldenburg is now the third city, along with Munich and Ingolstadt, in which memorial signs have been installed.
